Second set of nails, still on a dalton theme. I'm quite happier with these.



Dalton Blazer

Polishes used:
Bari Cosmetics - Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes (Silver)
NYC - Long Wearing - 115 Skin Tight Denim (Blue)
NYC - Long Wearing - 131 Big Apple Red (Red)
Sally Henson - No Chip Acrylic Top Coat (Clear)

Tools Used:
Nail Polish Brush
Toothpick (for dotter)

Method:
Simple stripes and dots, inspired by uniforms (though I suppose it should have been gold instead of silver). Still Dalton inspired because that's the only colors I have, and I'm still working on nails for my costume.

Painted on 2 coats of red and let dry.

Layered the silver on 1/3 (roughly) of the nail and let dry.

Striped the blue on, leaving a small strip of silver. (could have done blue, then a line of silver, but I was using the polish brushes to get smoother lines). Let Dry.

Dotted on silver with a toothpick, let dry then added 2 coats of clear top coat. (I also learned I could have dotted the silver on when I made the first silver layer and saved a little time. oh well)

So, I've decided to play with nail art, in the hopes of having some nice nails to pair with my dalton outfit on the 10th (Glee 3d: the movie pre-screening)

This is my first attempt at nail art, and I think it's pretty safe to say, I have a long ways to go.



Dalton Tie Stripes

Polish Used:
NYC - Long Wearing - 131 Big Apple Red
NYC - Long Wearing - 115 Skin Tight Denim
Sally Henson - No Chip Acrylic Top Coat

Tools Used:
Polish Brush
Striping Brush (homemade, cut down paint brush)

I just realized that the polish names will be funnier to Klaine fans (bonus, the silver I used to mark the inside bottom is 'Mercedes')

First step was filing the nails, leaving them long but making a better fit. Then I glued the nails to wood skewers, to make them easier to manipulate.

I started with a bottom coat of blue, then realized the red would not show up well, so made a few coats of red. red ended up a little darker because of this.

Applied blue in (messy) stripes, then covered in 2 coats of Top Coat.

Lessons for next time: - Choose bottom coat wisely, and make neater stripes. Invest in a good striping brush.

Because my OCD needs outlets dammit!

I created the panicattack!kurt universe, and it keeps popping up in enough of my fics that I had to sit down and draw it out so I wouldn't keep confusing myself as to where everything was.
